Recently I happened across Conways. I walked in to be greeted in a most pleasant manner.
I asked a few questions and found the staff to be friendly and very knowledgeable. With that it was suggested I have a free eyesight consultation with their specialist. Ultra modern equipment and very accurate. They also checked for any issues with the eyes medically.
Result being an excellent service from start to finish, no pressure selling, only good advice.
Highly recommended.
Called in today on the off chance I could get my partners sun glasses repaired. The gentleman behind the counter took the glasses and repaired them straight away, excellent customer service. Highly recommend ! Thanks again 🙂
Exceptional service, as they go above and beyond as it is customer led approach. I will definitely recommend people to come here for their eye tests or assessments.
I cant believe to witness such a high delivery of care and standards at a high street. As I walked in, the person at the front desk, Martyna was approachable and friendly. In aspects of managerial experience, I had initially spoken to Abbas who was patient, knowledgeable and thorough in explaining how the process works.
Similarly, his staff member Fatima shared the same qualities as him who holds good professionalism, is competent and morally grounded person. This clinic is truly in a class of its own the gold-standard treatment and next-level care make it completely unique.
Highly recommend this Opticians, from the moment I arrived i was made to feel welcome and listened to. I’ve been to many opticians over the years and nothing compares to the care given at Conway’s. Thank you ☺️ Also I would like to add the range of Tom Ford glasses are another level! Such a fantastic range of glasses 👓
I recently had an eye test at Conways Opticians Erdington and was extremely impressed with the level of care and professionalism provided throughout my visit.
The eye examination was incredibly in-depth and thorough and everything was explained clearly to me in a way that was easy to understand.
The staff took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel completely comfortable from start to finish.
Thank you very much for your support

Lovely staff, professional and friendly always ready to go above and beyond. I take numerous clients and never had any issues or complaints, their service was so good I joined myself and my son a year ago and have been just as happy with their service since.
Great service all around. From the eye exam, to choosing the frames and selecting additions to lenses, I was assisted with helpful advice and patience, never feeling rushed as I made my decisions. I found the service here to be far superior to my previous opticians.
I recently visited Realeyes Clinik for an eye examination and to get a new pair of glasses, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The doctor and staff were professional, respectful, and very helpful throughout the process. The clinic itself is equipped with modern technology, and the environment was exceptionally clean and welcoming.
From start to finish, everything was handled with great care and attention. I highly recommend Realeyse Clinik to anyone in need of eye care services, and it will definitely be my go-to place for future eye examinations and glasses.
I visited Realeyes a few days ago and experienced an eye examination that utilized advanced technology. Prior to this, I had my initial check-up in Nigeria, where I believed I was receiving top-notch medical care. However, my visit to Realeyes truly transformed my understanding of eye care. With my new glasses, everything appears sharper and clearer, allowing me to see the world in a way I hadn’t before. The staff members were not only professional but also incredibly warm and compassionate, making the entire experience enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to come here; they are truly the best in the field.

Allow about 30–45 minutes for the examination itself.

Please bring your current glasses, sunglasses and or contact lenses, and a list of any medications. If you drive to the appointment, bear in mind that eye drops may blur your vision for a few hours if they need to be used. Eye examinations
What happens during an eye examination?
Your optometrist checks how clearly you see and examines the health of your eyes. They talk through any concerns, and explain your results and recommendations in plain language before you leave. Nobody will pressure you to buy anything.
What's the difference between a standard and an enhanced eye examination?
An enhanced examination adds advanced retinal health scans to the standard check. The scans give your optometrist a more detailed view of the back of your eye, which can help spot changes earlier. There is an additional charge of £20 for the enhanced 3D OCT scan.
How often should I have an eye test?
Most adults should have an eye test every two years. Your optometrist may recommend yearly tests for children; for people aged 70 and over, and for anyone with diabetes, glaucoma or a family history of glaucoma.
Can an eye test detect health problems?
Yes. An eye examination can show early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. It can sometimes also reveal signs of high blood pressure. Many of these conditions cause no symptoms at first.
How much does an eye test cost?
Private Sight Test £35; enhanced 3D OCT scan £20.
If you're eligible and in receipt of benefits, the basic eye assessment is covered by the NHS, and are free.
Am I entitled to a free NHS eye test?
You're usually eligible if you are any of the following:
are under 16
are 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education (this includes being taught full-time at a school, college, university or at home)
are 60 or over
are registered as partially sighted or blind
have been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
are 40 or over and your mother, father, sibling or child has been diagnosed with glaucoma
have been advised by an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) that you're at risk of glaucoma
are a prisoner on leave from prison
are eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher – your optician can advise you about your entitlement
are entitled to or named on a valid NHS certificate for full help with health costs (HC2)
You're also entitled if you or your partner – including civil partner – receive, or you're under the age of 20 and the dependant of someone receiving:
People named on an NHS certificate for partial help with health costs (HC3) may also get help with the cost of a private sight test.
We'll check your eligibility when you book.
Children's eyecare & myopia
At what age should my child have their first eye test?
We recommend a first test before starting school, even if there are no obvious problems. Children rarely complain about poor vision. NHS eye tests are free for all children under 16.
What is myopia management?
Myopia management uses specialist lenses and regular monitoring to slow how quickly a child's short-sightedness gets worse. It isn't only about seeing clearly now. Slowing myopia lowers the risk of serious eye conditions in later life.
Is my child's short-sightedness getting worse?
Signs include squinting, sitting close to screens, headaches, and a prescription that changes at each test. If both parents are short-sighted, the risk is higher. Book a myopia assessment and we'll measure your child's progression over time.
Glasses & lenses
Which eyewear brands do you stock in Erdington?

Can you help me choose frames that suit me?
Yes. Our team will help you find frames that suit your face shape, prescription, lifestyle and personal style, with honest advice and no pressure.
How long do new glasses take?
We usually quote 2 weeks lead time for all tailor made orders, however they are usually fulfilled before this time frame.
Do you repair or adjust glasses, even if I didn't buy them here?
We regularly carry out quick adjustments and small repairs while you wait, but we do advise prior to making any adjustments that they are carried out at your own risk.
Do you offer NHS vouchers towards glasses?
If you're eligible for help with NHS optical costs, you can put a voucher towards your glasses.

Can I get contact lenses fitted in Erdington?
Yes. We offer professional contact lens fitting, tuition on how to put lenses in and take them out, and ongoing aftercare.
I've never worn contacts. Can I try them?
Yes. We'll assess whether contact lenses suit your eyes and lifestyle and teach you how to handle them safely. For contact lens assessments please speak to a member of staff.
Specialist care
Do you treat dry eyes?
Yes. We run a Dry Eye clinic that looks at the cause of your symptoms, such as gritty, burning or watery eyes. We then recommend a treatment plan suited to you.
What if my optometrist finds a problem?
We can manage many eye conditions in the practice. If you need further treatment, we'll refer you to the appropriate hospital or eye specialist and continue your ongoing care afterwards.
