How to Put In and Take Out Contact Lenses (Video Guide)
If you’re new to contact lenses, putting them in and taking them out can feel tricky at first. In our experience, most patients feel confident within their first week of practice. Watching it done first makes a real difference, so we’ve created two short videos to help.

Is it normal for contact lenses to feel strange at first?
Yes. A slight awareness of the lens is common for the first few days. If you feel pain or ongoing discomfort, remove the lens and speak to your optician.
What should I do if I can’t get my contact lens out?
Stay calm, wash your hands and try again after blinking a few times or using a rewetting drop. If you still can’t remove it, contact your nearest Conways branch.
How long does it take to get used to contact lenses?
Most people feel comfortable within one to two weeks. Your optician will usually start you with shorter wearing times and build up gradually.
Can I sleep in my contact lenses?
Only if your optician has fitted you with lenses designed for overnight wear. Otherwise, always remove them before sleeping.
